Celse Springorum, appears in a Bochum charter from 1423, making him the earliest known bearer of the Springorum name. His mention provides the first documented trace of the family in Westphalia, over a century before the later generations in Dortmund.

Diederich Springorum is recorded in a 1441 charter from Bochum, where he and his wife Karden von Beckum sold an annual rent from their house and farmstead. His sons Johann and Baten are named in the same document, making this one of the earliest clear family records of the Springorums.

Johann Springorum (I), son of Diederich Springorum and Karden von Beckum, is mentioned in the 1441 Bochum charter alongside his brother Baten. His presence in this document marks him as part of the second known generation of the Springorum family. Became Bürgermeister (mayor) of Bochum in 1476

Johann Schriver, genannt Springorum, appears in late 15th-century records from the Bochum area, where he carried both the occupational name Schriver (scribe) and the family name Springorum. His dual designation suggests he belonged to the early Springorum line while also holding a literate or clerical function in the community.

Johann Springorum (II), son of Johann Schriver genannt Springorum, is documented in Bochum as part of the early Springorum family. His mention in local records helps bridge the line from Celse and Diederich toward later, better-documented descendants.

Reinhard Springorum is the earliest known confirmed ancestor with the name Springorum. His name appears several times in the church records of Dortmund, linked to both the birth and death of his children. The witnesses listed at the baptisms of his children include prominent figures, such as the mayor of Dortmund and the leading clergyman of the parish.

Johannes Springorum was the eldest son of Reinhard Springorum (1593 - 1666) and was born in 1625. He became a priest (Pfarrer) in Kirchende, Germany. Around the village church in Kirchende, several gravestones are displayed, including the one of his 17-year-old daughter. His own gravestone is located inside, beneath the church tower.

Very little is known about Johann Heinrich Springorum, who lived in Heinrichenburg, Vest Recklinghausen. It seems he first married Sibylla Vasolt—possibly a relative of his grandmother, Catrinen Vasolt? After Sibylla’s death, he married Helena Herdinck, with whom he had three children. Linking Johann Heinrich to Johannes wasn’t possible through records alone—it took a DNA match to confirm the connection.

Johann Joseph Springorum served as sacristan in Henrichenburg. He married Anna Maria Stratmans, with whom he had eight children.

Together with his brother Barend, Willem Springorum emigrated to Amsterdam. Unlike his more adventurous brother, Willem settled in the city and worked as a grocer. He and Pieternelletje had eight children. The names of Willem and Barend appear in several birth records of each other’s children, showing their close family connection.

Dick Springorum devoted his life to language and communication; he was a pioneer in Dutch conversation analysis and helped establish the Business Communication program (now CIW) in Nijmegen. He inspired generations of students through his lectures and publications, and remained throughout his life deeply engaged, warm, and passionate.
